August 2015 Update

Hello!

Seeing as things have been so manic over the past few months, I have decided a monthly update is far more realistic for me to do!

Soooo... here is what has been going on and created over here at Pixie-Crafts since August.

Firstly, I have been racking my brains over the past few months with regards to labeling my dolls with my business name. I finally settled on these gorgeous buttons which have been printed with my website address. They are wooden and fit the dolls perfectly.
They come from a shop on Etsy called GirlsFever >>linky link here >>> Girls Fever

There was another creation made for Emma who writes children's books. This is her latest character, Truman Troll and his friend, Barry Bat. I shall share the link to her new book as soon as it has been released. In the meantime, you can find her Edwin Elf and Norma Gnome books on Amazon.

Peggy Polar bear was another make this month and has made her way to her new home in America.

There has been an awful lot of this! I have been surrounded by heads, legs and arms for weeks now!
You lot certainly keep my fingers busy!

These cute Bumble Bees were also created. I will be listing them in the pixie shop very soon!

Isla and Niamh were twins who were created for a very special customer. Super cute!

We've had another Horrid Design Fairy appear in the form of Prim. I just love creating the Horrid Design fairies and cannot wait to get started on the next design!

A completely new product also appeared. This is my Bina Bear Box frame picture which has now gone off to Switzerland. I absolutely loved creating this and have already started on another which I hope to release soon!

Halloween has arrived early and Frankenlaly was created. He is the first of a few oher Halloween characters I am hoping to get made very soon. I was so pleased with how he turned out. Frankenlaly is available in the pixie shop now.

Henrietta Horse has been made and is off to Canada this week. Lucky horse!

Aaand finally! A custom monster who is called Gooey. He has been created for a little girl who wanted her imaginary friend bringing to life. <3
He's soooo fluffy!

So that's it for now! I have a large list of orders I am currently working through so I will have plenty more to share with you all very soon.

Pixies and zombies....

Hi all!

Popping past to share this weeks work.

I finally finished the custom pixie I had been working on, this is Bebe. I'm chuffed with how she has turned out.

Aaaand I managed to get Ted Mannwoking the zombie completed. He is now listed in my Etsy shop ☺️

This week I shall be creating a couple more zombies and cracking on with some Xmas bits. ☺️ xx

New York... New Yorrrkkkkkkkk!!!

Hi everyone,

I have completed another one of my orders which was a rabbit.

This is Vicki and she will be heading off to New York this week to her new home... Not in any packaged box on a cargo plane either may I add....oh no.... This lil girly is going full on comfort mode in a Virgin Atlantic passenger plane! Lucky thing ☺️

So my Halloween plans seems to be going into overdrive also at the moment what with the very important question....what shall I carve onto my pumpkins this year?!
Mr Pixie seems to have collected an awful lot of pallet wood lately also so I have decided to help him use this wood (even if he had other plans for it...) and have asked him to create a very special framework for a spooky project.... More to come on this later though!

Today's bit of pixieness will consist of a custom pixie being worked on and possibly another lil zombie, should I get time.

Enjoy your day you lovely pixie followers.

Hugs xx

By the pricking of my thumbs...Something wicked this way comes...

Hello!

This week I have finally managed to complete my lil coven of witches as well as starting a group of zombies.
Rabbits have also been created!

Let me introduce you to the witches who are now up for sale in my Etsy shop...

This is Arabella Wormbottler, the Pumpkin Witch.
She puts slugs in the blender and turns them into a drink and she likes to squirm around your garden! She could do with a good bath!

This is Hilda Mousecruncher.
She crunches bones for breakfast and she likes to steal from your cupboards! She has breath that could knock a human out!

This is Beatrix Slugroaster
She roasts rats for dinner and she likes to cough all over your hair! She is as slimy as a snail!

This is Eileen Waspgnasher.
She is always gnashing and wailing and she likes to poke you with knitting needles when you're not looking. She is often covered in dirt.

Here is a sneak peek at my first zombie.... Ted Mannwoking.
He is still in progress so I will post more of him when he's complete :)

Glinda the good pixie witch :)

Hello all!
Just popping past to share my latest doll, Glinda with you all.
She's another pixie witch, made in preperation for Halloween.

I shall be making a special pixie over the next couple of days which will be winging her way off to a fundraising event for Macmillan. I shall post pics before she leaves though :)

Halloween is coming!

I'm struggling with the thought we're in September already! Where has this year gone!?!
Anyway, this means that I am now well in Halloween mode and dare I say, I'm even thinking about Xmas pixies!
Another witchy pixie is underway. She will be dressed in this material...
So she's certainly going to stand out!
Things have slowed down a bit here due to still feeling a bit under the weather and an impending move of house coming up along with work and the general day to day stuff that needs doing. It's a busy life being a pixie creator!

Hope you have all survived the school summer holidays!

Tabitha

Hello everyone!

Popping past to share my latest girly.
This is Tabitha the pixie witch :) I loved making her. Thought I would get a head start on the Halloween celebrations :)

She's sat on a beanbag style pumpkin which I made from felt. Thought it would suit her better than a toadstool.

Meet Deylia

This is Deylia, zombie number 3.
She was going to be a 50 shades of grey doll, but I need to use my time wisely to get ready for the zombie fest so thought I would change her about a bit.
She's pretty much finished although I will probably give her a pair of shoes at some point.
I thought the added heart in her hand would add to the gruesomeness, instead of the handcuffs that she would have been holding.
I still think she's pretty though, albeit freshly bitten and turning hehehe :)

Zombie number 4 is also well on the way to being completed but will post pics of her when she is done.

Ello!!

Just realised how quiet things must appear on here as I haven't posted for days! I have been looking after a friend's little boy for the past couple of days so my dolls have been neglected.
Full day of dolling ahead of me today however so fingers crossed I'll have some pics to post later :)
Have had lots of zombie ideas sent my way which is great! Keep em coming ;)

Ahhhhhhh!!!

Well i've done it! I've only gone and registered for the Zombie Fest event in London on May 11th!
I am so excited but at the same time really nervous. It will be the first official time of showing off my dolls in public!
What happens if no one likes them?! :-o
Will be really busy for the next few weeks while I whittle away in my craft room.
I shall update as the time goes on with the progress on the dolls (feedback will be muchly appreciated!)

If anyone has any good zombie ideas, please feel free to share. I have a few ideas already but all help and suggestions will be greatly received :)

Thanks my lovelies xx

Wednesday is finally finished

She's a bit darker than I usually create, which I like.
Self standing and complete with headless doll hee hee.
She's smaller than usual standing dolls also measuring just under 12 inches.

Progress on Wednesday...on Wednseday

Wednesday is almost finished. I was hoping to have her completed sooner but have been ill again so things have been a bit held up. Am starting another doll today also as I need to start building a stock for a craft fair I will be going to soon :)

Added note.... For any of those that read my blog before I edited it... I truly thought it was Thursday today.. I have now changed the title... chemo brain, what can I say?! lol

Meet Nyx :) My lil zombie

Finally finished my lil zombie girly. I've called her Nyx (Nyx is the Greek goddess of night). I thought the name suited her.
Even though she is a tad gruesome, I still think she's pretty hehehe :)

Zombie WIP

She's nearly done! Got to dress her tomorrow. The original hair I had for her didn't work out as I didn't have enough which is a shame so went with purple locks instead. She is looking very "Sally" like from the nightmare before xmas, but I'm liking that ! :) will update tomorrow when she is complete :) x

Ps... The loo roll in the background is actually my handmade iPhone dock hahaha

Update on zombie girl

Lil zombie girl is coming along nicely, am pleased with her. My bestie says she looks very "Tim Burton" which is a massive compliment to me as I love all Tim Burton films :)

And now for something completely different!

Firstly, apologies to my mum who I know is an avid follower of my blog as I feel she may hate my latest creation but I just really fancied doing something totally different to what I have been doing.... Love you mum ;) xxxx

Further progress on Sabrina

Still not too sure about her to be honest... Have already changed her head once and still not convinced, maybe ill be happier when she's finished!

Progress on Sabrina the witch

Yeah yeah, she's headless... The head is done however but currently drying. The design is a lot more "willowy" than my other dolls but I'm liking it so far...it's different :)

Halloween is coming...

So having just finished the ballerina girly, I have already started my next doll which will be a witch. I am creating a stump doll for the first time. I am using a pattern I have found from Cloth Dolls for Textile Artists book by Ray Slater, but I have altered it slightly. It's a wonderful book which I highly recommend for anyone who is interested in finding something a bit different.

Hopefully should have a pic to post tomorrow of the witch's progress :)
